Alex Zanardi è stato dimesso dall’ospedale di Siena in cui si trovava dal 19 giugno scorso, dopo essere stato stato coinvolto in un grave incidente stradale sulla statale che collega Pienza a San Quirico D’Orcia (Siena) durante una gara di handbike. L’ex pilota è stato subito trasferito in un centro specializzato in Lombardia – il Villa Beretta in provincia di Lecco – dove potrà proseguire con delle cure neuro-riabilitative. Ad annunciarlo è la stessa azienda ospedaliera senese che ha spiegato come le condizioni dell’atleta e la normalizzazione dei parametri cardio-respiratori abbiano consentito la sospensione della sedazione farmacologica e, quindi, lo spostamento verso un altro tipo di struttura. La permanenza di Zanardi nell’ospedale di Siena è durata circa un mese nel quale ha effettuato tre importanti interventi chirurgici: due al cervello e uno di ricostruzione del cranio e delle ossa del volto.
